Devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of your smile!

We are a dental practice devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of your smile using conservative, state-of-the-art procedures that will result in beautiful, long lasting smiles!

High Standards

A standard of excellence in personalized dental care enables us to provide the quality dental services our patients deserve.  We provide comprehensive treatment planning and use restorative and cosmetic dentistry to achieve your optimal dental health.  Should a dental emergency occur, we make every effort to see and care for you as soon as possible.

Education & Prevention

As a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health.  We strive to provide “dental health care” vs. “disease care”.  That’s why we focus on thorough exams – checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams, and taking x-rays when necessary. We also know that routine cleanings, flossing, sealants, and fluoride are all helpful in preventing dental disease.  Not only are we focused on the beauty of your smile, we’re also concerned about your health.  A review of your medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, any new medications, and any illnesses that may impact your dental health.

Uncompromising Safety

Infection control in our office is also very important to us.  To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  For the latest information on the  from the CDC on Infection Control please visit the attached link: https://www.mouthhealthy.org/en/az-topics/i/infection-control?utm_source=mouthhealthy&utm_medium=mhhomerotator&utm_content=coronavirus-infection-control

We care about your safety and work hard to prevent the spread of infection.  Before you enter the examining room, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, dental light, drawer handles and countertops, have been cleaned and disinfected. We cover equipment with protective covers, which are replaced after each patient.   Non-disposable items like the dental tools are cleaned and sterilized between patients.  Disposable dental tools and needles are never reused.  We require all staff involved in patient care to use disposable gloves, masks, gowns and eyewear when needed. After each patient, disposable gloves and masks are thrown away.  Before seeing the next patient, everyone on the treatment team washes their hands and puts on a new pair of gloves.

Training & Expertise

As your dental health professionals, we want you to be confident knowing that we are a team of highly trained and skilled clinicians.  We pride ourselves in providing the care you need to keep your smile healthy. To give you the best possible service and results, we are committed to continual education and learning.  We attend dental lectures, meetings, and dental conventions to stay informed of new techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment that a modern dental office can utilize to provide state-of-the-art dental care.  Also, being members of various professional dental associations helps us to stay abreast of the changes and recommendations for our profession.

A Positive Experience

Building a foundation of trust by treating our patients as special individuals is vital to our success.  We understand how uneasy some patients may feel about their dental visits, and how we can make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience.  Our entire team is dedicated to providing you with excellent, personalized care and service to make your visits as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

We thank you for allowing us to take care of your dental needs and look forward to serving you.

Meet Dr. Mindy Shaw, D.D.S.

Dr. Shaw has lived in Juneau nearly her entire life, and is happy to call Juneau home!  Alaskan through-and-through, she has always enjoyed spending time outdoors.  When not providing dental care for her patients, Dr. Shaw likes to spend time with her husband and family hunting, fishing, and camping.  She also enjoys mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and is active in a variety of sports including ice hockey, softball, volleyball, soccer, and running.

After graduation from college, Dr. Shaw began working as a dental assistant for Dr. Gary Moeller. It was at this time that she developed her interest and passion for dentistry.  She attended the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated at the top of her class in 2010. Returning to Juneau, she became a partner in Dr. Moeller’s practice.  In 2012, when Dr. Moeller retired, Dr. Shaw took over the practice and established Shaw Dental, LLC.

Dr. Shaw holds membership with the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, Delta Sigma Delta international professional dental fraternity, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. She has been involved with various committees of the Alaska Dental Society and has served a term as President of the Juneau Dental Society. Dr. Shaw also donates her time and dental services at community events such as the Alaska Mission of Mercy, and Give Kids A Smile programs.

Dr. Shaw prides herself in devoting considerable time to continuing education in order to stay abreast of new innovations in the field of dentistry, including the application of new dental techniques and technology. Her primary concern is to provide the best possible oral care to her patients based on their specific needs. Dr. Shaw’s approach is conservative, and she will always recommend dental treatment options that will preserve natural tooth structure when possible.

Dr. Shaw enjoys working with patients of all ages and has been providing full-service general, cosmetic, and preventive dental care for the whole family since 2010. She would like to personally welcome you to her Juneau dental office to meet her team of professional, caring, and courteous dental staff.
